The Jury And The Saints

About The Jury And The Saints:

Monster rock from the Land of the Long White Cloud.

Formed in 2009, The Jury and the Saints’ first year was a relentless one. The band played live to over 50,000 people and National TV channel, FOUR, picked up the boy’s first single, Brand New, as the channel’s promo song as well as a short documentary about the band and their music. The video for ‘Brand New’ soon became the number one most played video on C4 and a top five single on MySpace music.

Not long after all this the band were asked to support global hit makers Paramore on their NZ tour. Paramore loved the band so much they invited the guys on a full eight date, Stadium, Australasian (Australia and NZ) tour to an overwhelming response – reaching over 60,000 in 8 shows.

In October 2012 the band was signed to SPV Records in Germany. A tour followed soon after in 2013 through Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Band members are:

Jesse Smith – Guitar + Singer
Ivan Beets – Bass + Singer
Marty Kroon – Drums + Singer
Rowan Crowe – Guitar + Singer

Just One Fix

About Just One Fix:

Just One Fix are stalwarts of the New Zealand metal scene, with the band first raising its collectively ugly head in 1999.

Their acclaimed debut album THE PRICE OF SELLVATION, plus nationwide tours and support slots for Megadeth and Hellyeah, cemented the band in the front of the local scene and saw Just One Fix prove their worth alongside international heavy weights.

2008 was time for a change. Alongside founding member and guitarist Sharne Scarborough and vocalist Riccardo Ball, new blood was injected in the form of younger members Martin Kemble (drums) and Lee Steele (bass). The raw enthusiasm, fresh perspectives and hunger to achieve brought in by the new rhythm section inspired an intense creative period that culminated in the songs that became Just One Fix’s new album BLOOD HORIZON.

The different influences of the individual members of the band led to them developing a tighter, harder and more aggressive sound on the album. This was honed by the production skills and advice of Zorran Mendonsa (Saving Grace, In Dread Response, Subtract, Cobra Kahn) with the final coat of metal applied by studio mastering genius Evan Short (Shapeshifter). All of those factors, coupled with a desire to get the songs into the ears of as many people as possible, has also seen the band play 2009’s Big Day Out and share the Vector Arena Stage with Korn, Biohazard and Chimaira.

2010-2012 saw the band tour rigorously across the country, and in 2014 they released their new album.

Just One Fix are:

Riccardo Ball – Vocals
Martin Kemble – Drums
Ant “Stuntcock” Ward – Bass

Jakob

About Jakob:

This, New Zealand’s most formidable sonic instrumental three-piece, formed in the sleepy seaside town of Napier, Hawke’s Bay in 1998.

Their debut album Subsets Of Sets (2002) put them on the map, their sophomore Cale:Drew (2005) solidified them as one of the country’s true explorative musical outfits and their third album Solace (2006) took them to the world. On the back of Solace’s release they toured Europe, the UK, Australasia and the USA with the likes of Isis, Pelican, Cog and The Hidden Hand. As their reputation continued to build they were twice personally invited to tour with American prog-rock heroes Tool throughout Australia and New Zealand, and toured alongside Damo Suzuki, frontman for seminal German psychedelic band Can.

While comparisons to bands like Mogwai, Sonic Youth, Sigur Ros & ISIS follow the band to give them context, Jakob have long since earned their reputation across the globe as a truly unique and artistic sonic entity. One of the country’s most heralded live acts with a back catalogue of critically acclaimed, and widely adored releases that have richly enhanced New Zealand’s musical legacy.

Jakob are:

Jeff Boyle (guitar), Maurice Beckett (bass) and Jason Johnson (drums)
